Our shiitake flavors taste delicious, have great health benefits, and harvesting shiitake is significantly more gentle on the environment than meat. Shiitake allows us to keep all the good parts about eating meat - flavor, texture, juiciness - and leave out the bad!
What does it taste like?
In short: it tastes delicious. The longer answer? We wanted a product that could emulate that special, meat-eating experience, without the negative effects on our bodies and environment. After experimenting with several different types of meat-replacement foods, we realized shiitake checked all the boxes - juicy, flavorful, and truly eats like meat. So much so that you won't miss the real thing!
What is the shelf life?
We pasteurize our products to extend the shelf-life, but suggest keeping them frozen until you’re ready to use. Kept in proper refrigeration, our products last about three weeks; once opened, they last about one week.
How do I prepare it?
Preparation is easy and hassle-free. Sautee, bake, microwave, steam, grill -- whatever your preference. We suggest using little-to-no oil and to cook gently; our products don’t need a long cook time.
